Saeed Ajmal followed up his 10 wickets in the Dubai test with seven in the Abu Dhabi test which was enough to put him ahead of England’s fast bowler James Anderson in second position. The 34-year-old has earned 50 ratings points for this achievement giving him a career-best rating, and he now leads Anderson by 25 ratings points but still trails number-one ranked Dale Steyn of south Africa by 84 ratings points. Left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman has jumped five places to ninth spot. This is after 23 years that two Pakistan spinners figure inside the top 10 of the test player rankings. In September 1988, Abdul Qadir was ranked fifth and Iqbal Qasim 10th. In the batting ranking Misbah Ul Haq has broken into the top 10 for the first time in his career in eighth position by rising six places following his contributions of 84 and 12 runs.

Brilliant bowling from pakistan side specifically Abdul Rehman and saeed ajmal. the second test match is superb for Pakistan. World,s Number One test team loss first and second test match from Pakistan. this is second victory for Pakistan. Abdul rehaman take 6 wickets from just 25 runs. Saeed Ajmal take three wickets from 22 runs with top scored AJ Strauss.

England were bowled out for their lowest test score of 72 against Pakistan in all tests. Left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman took six wickets. Pakistan won the first test by ten wickets in Dubai. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani have congratulated the Pakistan cricket team on their glorious victory against England. In their separate messages, the president and the prime minister praised Misbah-Ul-Haq for his astute captaincy and lauded the performances of Abdul Rahman, Saeed Ajmal, Azhar Ali and the entire team.

They said this is a moment of pride and rejoicing for the whole nation.

Left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman took a career best 6 for 25 to help Pakistan humble England by 72 runs in the second test at Abu Dhabi.

Pakistan have won the series by taking an unassailable 2-nil lead in the three-match series. Pakistan lost their last six wickets with the addition of 89 runs after resuming at 125 for 4, with all hopes pinned on Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq. Panesar took three of those wickets to finish with his eighth five-wicket haul in tests. Azhar Ali hit 68 and Asad Shafiq scored 43. Both added 88 for the fifth wicket. Abdul Rehman and Saeed Ajmal added an invaluable 36 for the eighth wicket before Panesar wrapped up the innings by taking the last two wickets. England were set a target of 145 runs to win but Abdul Rehman took wickets in successive overs to dent England’s chase and bowling them out for 72 which is their lowest against Pakistan in all tests. This is England’s first series defeat after being unbeaten in their previous nine since their loss to the West Indies in early 2009. Rehman was ably assisted by off-spinners Saeed Ajmal who took 3 wickets for 22. England captain Andrew Strauss top scored with 32. England’s previous lowest against Pakistan was 130 made on two occasions at the oval in 1954 and Lahore in 1987. The third test of the series will be played on 3rd of February in Dubai.

Australia wrapped up a 298-run win over India

Australia wrapped up a 298-run win over India to sweep the series 4-0 early on the final day of the fourth Test at the Adelaide Oval today.

The end was swift with the Australians snapping up the final four wickets in an hour to dismiss India for 201 and inflict a fourth heavy defeat on the demoralised tourists. It was India’s eighth consecutive away Test loss after a 4-0 series loss in England last year and the Indians have not won a series in Australia in 10 visits. Australia’s dominance over India comes a year after their Ashes series humiliation at home to England and their significant improvement under new skipper Michael Clarke, who replaced Ricky Ponting. Australia won by 122 runs in Melbourne, an innings an 68 runs in Sydney and an innings and 37 runs in Perth before their final Adelaide annihilation. Australia’s bowlers, led by pacemen Ben Hilfenhaus (27 wickets) and Peter Siddle (23), dented the reputations of India’s decorated batting lineup with the eight-Test youngster Virat Kohli topping the side’s batting averages with 37.50. Sachin Tendulkar, who failed to bring up his 100th international century, has now gone without a century for 25 Test and one-day innings. His last hundred (111) was in the World Cup last March. Tendulkar finished the series with 287 runs at 35.87, but it was sorry reading for the other batting luminaries. Test cricket’s second all-time highest runscorer Rahul Dravid finished with 194 runs at 24.25, Virender Sehwag 198 at 24.75 and V.V.S. Laxman just 155 at 19.37. India were set an improbable 500-run target for victory in the Adelaide Test off 146 overs after Clarke’s second declaration of the match at 167 for five in their second innings shortly after Friday’s lunch. The highest winning chase at the Adelaide Oval is Australia’s 315 against England in 1902, while India’s highest-ever run hunt was 406 against the West Indies in Trinidad in 1976. But the beleaguered tourists never got close and crashed to 166 for six by stumps leaving the final day’s outcome as a formality under sunny skies. Nightwatchman Ishant Sharma was out on the eighth ball of the last day, caught behind off Ryan Harris for two and he was followed in the next over by Wriddhiman Saha also caught behind off Siddle for three. Zaheer Khan hit out lustily for three fours before he was caught by David Warner at short cover off Hilfenhaus for 15. The final wicket came when Umesh Yadav (1) was caught behind by Haddin for spinner Nathan Lyon’s fourth wicket of the innings. Ravi Ashwin remained 15 not out. Siddle was announced man-of-the-match with six wickets.
