India beat Sri Lanka by 50 runs

India defeated Sri Lanka by 50 runs in the second match of Asia Cup at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.

Irfan Pathan got four wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin and Vinay Kumar shared three wickets each. Mahela Jayewardene made 78 runs while Kumar Sangakkara scored 65 runs. Lahilru Thirimanne scored 29 runs whereas Faraveez Maharoof scored 18 runs. Sri Lanka was all out on 254 runs in the 46th over. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to field first. Virat Kholi and Gautam Ghambir’s tons helped India to set a good total of 305 runs against Sri Lanka. Kholi and Ghamir added 205 runs for India. Kholi scored 108 runs while his partner Ghambir made 100 runs. Little master Sachin Tendulkar has to wait more for his 100th ton. He just scored six runs in the match. Indian skipper Mahidra Singh Dhoni made quick 46 runs on just 26 runs while Suraish Raina hammered 30 runs on just 17 balls. Maharoof took two wickets while Suranga Lakmal got one wicket. ARY NEWS
