The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) of AJK (Azad Jammu and Kashmir) is responsible for conducting examinations for intermediate (11th and 12th grade) students in the region. As students prepare for their upcoming exams, understanding the paper pattern becomes crucial. This article aims to provide an overview of the BISE AJK Board’s paper pattern for 11th and 12th grade exams in the year 2024.

Exam Structure and Duration

The exams for 11th and 12th grades in the AJK Board generally follow a similar structure. The duration of each paper is typically three hours, during which students are required to complete their answers.

Subject-Wise Paper Pattern

2.1 Science Group:

For students in the science group, the papers are divided into two parts: objective and subjective.

2.1.1 Objective Section:

The objective section usually consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). This section tests students’ knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. The number of MCQs and their weight may vary from subject to subject.

2.1.2 Subjective Section:

The subjective section requires students to provide detailed written answers. It includes short questions, long questions, and essay-type questions. The mark distribution for each type of question may vary, and it is essential for students to be familiar with the specific marking scheme for each subject.

2.2 Arts Group:

For students in the arts group, the paper pattern may differ slightly from that in the science group. The subjective section holds more weight in these papers.

2.2.1 Subjective Section:

The subjective section for arts group students typically includes short questions, comprehensive questions, and essay-type questions. Students are expected to provide detailed and well-structured answers to demonstrate their understanding of the subject.

Marking Scheme and Grading

The marking scheme and grading system for BISE and AJK Board exams may vary from subject to subject. It is crucial for students to be aware of the specific marking criteria and the weight assigned to different sections or types of questions. Understanding the grading system can help students gauge their performance and set realistic expectations.
