UoG gets 100 acres for sub campus in Narowal

The University of Gujrat on Tuesday acquired 100 acres of land at Behbal Wali and Kaka Padda villages on the main Narowal-Shakkargarh Road to establish its sub campus in Narowal.UOG

The possession of the land was taken over by UoG Registrar and Director P&D Dr Tahir Aqil and Deputy Director P&D and focal person Muhammad Faheem Aslam. Director UoG Sub Campus Narowal Sahibzada Faisal Khursheed, Assistant Professor and Coordinator for UOG Sub Campus Narowal Shahzada Zia Ahmad, and DSP Narowal were also present on the occasion. The government of Punjab had provided Rs253.994 million for the acquisition of the land.

The campus will be established under the HEC-approved project ‘Strengthening and Expansion of University of Gujrat and Allied Campuses’.

The sub campus will have admin and academic blocks, library, multipurpose hall, hostels for faculty and students, guest house, faculty residences, masjid, boundary wall, roads, etc.

The campus will accommodate 15,000 students, faculty and staff. It will serve the students from all parts of the Punjab, but is likely to be the first choice for students from Narowal, Shakargarh, Zafarwal, Pasrur and Badumalhi being in close proximity.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reforms Prof. Ahsan Iqbal will perform groundbreaking after this Eid-ul-Fitar.
