ADMISSION POLICY 2020-21 GENERAL ADMISSION POLICY FOR ALL DEGREE PROGRAMS

  • : Admission shall be made as per UOG Admission Policy.
  • Admissions shall be open for both, male and female candidates, unless mentioned.
  • Admissions shall be an open merit.
  • At least 45% marks in terminal degree are required to apply for admission.
  • Departmental Entry / Aptitude Test (where required) shall be conducted by the department Concerned, as per given schedule.
  • The complete Admission forms shall be received in the UOG LAHORE CAMPUS, Admission Office during office hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) five days in a week (Monday to Friday).
  • The complete admission forms against reserved seats shall be received in the UOG LAHORE CAMPS, Admission Office during office hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) five days in a week (Monday to Friday).
  • The detail of the reserve seats are available at UOG website https://www.uoglahore.edu.pk/
  • In complete admission forms or received after due date shall not be entertained.
  • List of selected candidates shall be displayed as per schedule.  The list shall also be available on UOG website (www.uoglahore.edu.pk) as well as on departmental notice board.
  • The selected candidates shall require paying admission dues within the notified dates; otherwise the admission shall be considered cancelled.
  • Deposited Fee shall not be refunded except security dues.
  • Subject to the availability of seat and merit, a candidate shall be allowed to change major discipline within due dates of add course(s), if applied for more than one discipline.  No change shall be allowed after the deadline.
  • Under special circumstances, the UOG Lahore Campus Competent Authority can grant relaxation in the upper age limits. Following are the age limits for various degree programs

*The candidates shall apply for the relaxation in upper age limit well in time to the UOG Competent Authorities and the letter of the same must be submitted along with the application form within due dates.
  • The degree programs shall be offered, depending upon the class size.
  • All offered degree programs shall run under semester system.
  • Separate Hostel accommodation is available to for male and female students.

Associate Degree / BS/ BBA and LLB Degree Programs.

(After 12 years of education)

Merit Criteria

  • 30% Weight age of obtained marks in Matriculation or equivalent
  • 70 % weight age of  obtained marks in Intermediate or equivalent
  • For BSc Engineering the Merit shall be determining as 70 % FSc / DAE +30 % UET Lahore Entry Test.
  • For School of Art, Design & Architecture (SADA) in all disciplines (Architecture, Ceramics and Glass Design, Fine Arts, Multimedia and Communication Design, Product Design, Textile & Surface Design) the merit shall be determined as:

Matriculation Marks =       10 %

Intermediate Marks =        30 %

Admission Test =              40 %

Interview =                        20 %

MA/MSc/MCom/MBA (3.5 years) Degree Programs

(After 14 years of education)

Merit Criteria

  • 20% Weight age of obtained marks in Matriculation or equivalent
  • 20 % weight age of  obtained marks in Intermediate or equivalent
  • 60 % weight age of  obtained marks in BA/BSc/B Com or equivalent including elective subjects as desired by each department ( including 20 additional marks for specific subject)

MBA (1.5 years) Degree Programs

(After 16 years of education)

Basic Criteria to Apply:

  • candidates shall possess at least sixteen years of business education (BBA / MBA (2 years)).
  • The candidate shall have at least 45 % marks in the annual examination system or 2.50/4.00(with at least 65% marks) CGPA in the semester system examination throughout his / her academics career except in Matriculation and intermediate examination.

MS/M Phil Degree Programs

(After 16 years of education)

Basic Criteria to Apply:

  • Ms/Mphil candidates shall possess at least sixteen years of education (MA / MSc / BS-4 years degree) / BBA/BE / BSc (Engineering) / B-Pharmacy / BDS / Pharm-D / MBBS degree OR its equivalent qualification in the relevant subject.
  • The candidate shall have at least 45 % marks in the annual examination system or 2.50/4.00(with at least 65% marks) CGPA in the semester system examination throughout his / her academics career except in Matriculation and intermediate examination.
  • Candidate shall have to pass the Departmental Subject Based Written Test (DSBWT) and interview, where applicable.

Final merit of the candidates for MS/MPhil/MBA (1.5 years) shall be determined as under:

PhD Programs

(After 18 years of education

Basic Criteria to Apply:

MS/MPhil or equivalent degree with minimum CGPA>3.00/4.00 as per HEC rules in the relevant domain.

  • Candidate shall have to pass the Departmental Subject Based Written Test (DSBWT) and interview, where applicable.

Submission of Admission Application, Admission and Registration

  • In response to the advertisement by the University, each candidate seeking admission in the desired degree program shall submit an application for admission on a UOG prescribed form in the relevant department(s) of the University within the due dates.
  • In service candidate shall apply through proper channel Advance copies shall not be entertained.
  • On the recommendation of the Dean / Director / Principal concerned, the Vice Chancellor shall constitute and approve the DDMPC , Consisting of the following:

I.            Head of the department Concerned. (Convener)

II.            Al least two senior faculty members with Phd qualification.

III.            Subject Specialist may be taken as co-opted members where required to cover all areas of research.

  • The Departmental Examination Committee (DEC) notified by the DDMPC concerned shall ascertain the eligibility of the candidates by securitizing the admission form.
  • The short listed candidates shall be invited for the DSBWT by the HOD/Chairpersons. The interview shall be conducted by the DDMPC intimation to the Dean / Director / Principal concerned and the list of provisionally selected candidates shall be displayed on the departmental Notice Board and UOG website.
